When we booked this property it was under the assumption that the bathroom would have been upgraded and WiFi installed. Unfortunately neither of these things were in place.
There were some cleanliness issues in the kitchen and the twin bedroom had a musty smell.
The location was good and views fantastic.
We would definitely return if the bathroom and WiFi issues have been completed even if the price was increased.

Had an excellent stay. Location was brilliant with lovely views and just a short walk from the town. Nice places to eat and the Festiniog railway was the highlight of our stay. Will certainly be back.

This apartment was in a great position, right by the water and lots of boats around,with beautiful mountain views and good sitting out area with good quality folding chairs and table. Only a short walk into the main areas in Porthmadog and same walk to the Steam Railway and in the other direction on the walk to Borth-y-gest, over the hill. Parking very tight but the parking for this apartment was just a little separate, however all other apartments had very tight spaces. Whilst we were there one Range Rover driver never managed to park it in one space - always taking part of someone elses, if it had been full it would have been difficult. All spaces had the apartment numbers on them.The interior was rather dated with a mish-mash of furniture styles. Needed the usual good clean and smelled very musty. Bathroom desperately in need of that update talked about for a long time. Kitchen was fine and well equipped, but the hot water was too hot and only ran very slowly. STS, OWNER, potential clients: PLEASE NOTE - anyone who is allergic to feathers will find the cushions on the settee a major problem. The feathers were constantly appearing on the settee or floor. ( We forgot to mention that in an email to STS). The towel query we had was sorted out by the lady who deals with towels, very quickly, as soon as we had messaged STS. Overall not a bad stay but unlikely to stay again unless a good overhaul and update was done, but then, of course, the price no doubt would rise. I notice the question asked, underneath this review, "Would you recommend this property to others?" There is no yes or no answer to that - Pro's and Con's. Yes give it a go, for the position if nothing else, make sure you take cleaning materials in case there are none available and be aware of all the above!

A quiet well appointed 2 bed apartment, amazing views, comfortable and warm, quiet location in central Porthmadog. Beds are comfy, kitchen well appointed. Bathroom could do with an update as well no internet as yet. EE mobile network seems the best overall signal getting 5g indoors and over 140MBps, so if you are coming with kids who need internet to keep them happy if it is raining all week then that is the best network to be on. I was told I would get a message with the key code for the key safe, but that never arrived, and the keys were just left in the unlocked key safe, so something to be aware of.

Had a fantastic stay here, the views are amazing. The flat is so warm and comfy to come back to after wintery rainy walks! We loved seeing the tides change across the harbour and estuary and watching the waders, egrets and cormorants. Flat was very well equipped and beds really comfy. Great to have a parking space right next to the flat as well. Lovely place thank you :-)

Location, location, location says it all. We came back and stayed longer!
The improvements to the kitchen fittings and refreshing of cutlery are appreciated - love the new clock! There are hints that Wi-Fi is coming and the bathroom is to be modernised, this will make a good holiday property an excellent one.
Finally, a word of thanks to STS staff who even took the trouble to advise us that, with cleaning complete, we could access the property early. Good service indeed.

Lovely property, in a lovely location, fantastic views of the mountains and harbour. In a good central location for local shops and restaurants, try Spooners bar on the harbour , nice food and lovely steam train spotting beer garden. Property needs bathroom update, but this is planned I believe, so once this is done will be perfect. Also very helpful when I contacted them asking for an early check in due to arriving on the train , would book again definitely.

enjoyed a week at Oakley Quay amazing location,but needs up graded in the bath room maybe replace the bath with a shower cubical making it easier for access,the bin under the sink still needs replacement the bit of card acting as a bottom fell out all over the floor..dont see the reason for wy fi as i am on hoilday so thats a positive i hope,,,thank you for the stat at the proprty..

We keep coming back! We like the location and the flat is always clean and well-presented.
However, attention to detail is lacking.
Along with other reviewers, I have previously mentioned the broken under-sink refuse bin. Effectively bottomless, this is unhygienic. The owner promised last year to provide a replacement but nothing has been done.
In a property sleeping four there are only three cups and saucers! Luckily there are seven mugs, albeit in four styles. Last year welcome new cutlery appeared, but there are now only three desert spoons and three soup spoons (plus an odd one).
The kitchen clock is not working. I tried a new battery of my own without success. Please get a new clock or at least take the old one away!
The bathroom would benefit from a new suite, fitting modern taps would be an improvement. The bathroom Venetian blind needs replacing or supplementing with something more cheerful, such as a pretty roller blind.
Lack of WiFi was once an irritant but is now a big drawback when staying in this property.
Finally, while understandable during the pandemic, guests should no longer be expected to strip the beds on departure.

We booked here for a stay over Easter, location is great, nestled in a nice corner of Porthmadog, ideal for exploring the local area, short walk to a beach and various shops.
Unfortunately the flat is in need of some modernisation, the bedrooms were tired and hard to warm up, the kitchen had been replaced recently and worked well, the bathroom was in a poor state, on our second day the shower stopped working, we called the agent who responded very quickly, arriving in person to look at the issue but they were only able to advise not to use it. 4 days on an active holiday without the use of a shower was far from ideal. We ended up coming back a day early just so we could get clean.
When they sort the bathroom and the bedrooms this will be an ideal flat for a break.

A lovely spot on the harbour and the flat generally nice, clean and tidy. (Though it did have a musty odour) The main kitchen bin needs replacing though - it currently has a flattened Wheetabix box as the only base, which kept falling out. Think it a bit strange that’s regarded as acceptable. It was also quite a pain having no access at all to WiFi, so wouldn’t recommend staying here if that’s something that’s regularly needed.

We have stayed at this apartment before as it is in a good location right on the harbourside, with lovely views. The ground floor accommodation and parking space are suitable for elderly relatives. Quiet but within easy walking distance of the shops. Would recommend this place to friends and relatives as there are some nice drives out along the coast on inland into the mountains.

An enjoyable stay in a lovely location, STS staff helpful as ever.
Flat needs a little attention to detail - patio door curtains need repair or replacement, new under-sink bin needed. Also, it would be nice to have a working clock and a working outside light. In this day and age WiFi should be provided.
